TU ESI LV - AISZPUTA-LIEPĀJA-GROBIŅA-SALDUS // By Carmen Encuentra // Be the first to comment!

Ya os hablé en una entrada sobre el proyecto TU ESI LV . He tenido el placer de poder pasar un día muy interesante visitando Aizputa, Liepaja, Grobina y Saldus, ¿y eso?. El 16 de Abril fuimos un equipo de Zeimuls: Iveta y Linda -especialistas en juventud-, Arnis -líder del consejo de la juventud-, Anas -voluntario de Jordania- y yo, para visitar varios centros juveniles para intercambiar ideas y hablar de proyectos en común.

I spoke you in other post about the projet  TU ESI LV. I have had the pleasure to spend an very interesting day visiting Aizputa, Liepaja, Grobina and Saldus, ¿why?. On 16 April we went a Zeimuls team: Iveta and Linda -youth specialists-, Arnis -Leader of the Youth Council-, Anas -Volunteer from Jordania- and me, to visit some youth centers to exchange ideas and discuss about common projects.
 

La primera parada fue en La Casa de las Ideas (IDEJU MĀJA (Katoļu iela 5, Aizpute) www.idejumaja.lv)

Aquí nos recibieron Nauris -empleado en la casa-, Paula -líder de la casa- and Vilis. Visitamos la casa, nos hablaron de las actividades que realizan, intercambio de ideas,etc...

Fue realmente interesante conocer cómo poco a poco se empiezó con la idea de la casa y ahora podemos ver el resultado de que ha ido creciendo año tras año, desde el 2006 está abierta y este año van ha habilitar la segunda planta para tener más espacio y poder participar en intercambios juveniles.

The first stop was in The Idea´s House (IDEJU MĀJA (Katoļu iela 5, Aizpute) www.idejumaja.lv).

Here we were greeted by Nauris -worker in Idea´s house-, Paula -Leader of Idea´s house- y Vilis. 

We visited the house, they told us about the activities they organized, there was exchange of ideas,...

It was really interesting to see how step by step they began with the idea of the house and now we can see the result of how has been growing year by year, since 2006 it is open and in this year they are going to enabled the second floor, so they will have more space and they will can organized youth exchanges.

Festival "Pez volador" / Festival "Lido Zivis" (Flying fish) in Kuldiga (On 26th, April) // By Pilar Encuentra // Be the first to comment!

El día 26 de Abril tuvo lugar en Kuldiga, Letonia, el festival "Lido Zivis" (Pez volador).

On 26th of April had place in Kuldiga, Latvia, the festival "Lido Zivis" (Flying fish).

 

 "Peces voladores en Kuldiga no es una fantasía, los peces harían su camino aguas arriba del Río Venta ya desde hace siglos para encontrar una cascada remolino en su camino de la migración. Un método único de pesca, inventado por habitantes de Kuldiga hace 300 años durante el reinado de el Duque Jacobo, consistía en cestas de mimbre colgadas en  postes a lo largo de las cataratas. Kuldiga ganó su fama como la ciudad donde los peces fueron capturados en el aire. Este fenómeno natural único se celebra cada primavera por un evento especial - el show de primavera "Pez volador en Kuldiga" .

"Flying fish in Kuldiga is not just a fantasy, fish would make their way upstream the Venta River already for centuries finding a swirling waterfall on their way of migration. A unique method of fishing invented by inhabitants of Kuldiga 300 years ago during the reign of Duke Jacob – wicker baskets were hung on posts along the falls. Kuldiga gained its fame as the city where fish were caught in the air. This unique natural phenomenon is celebrated every spring by a special event – the spring show “Fish Fly in Kuldiga”.

Durante el festival, también se celebra el festival de contar cuentos. Este año la novedad fue la participación de voluntarios SVE contando una leyenda o cuento en su propio idioma. Esta iniciativa fue llevada a cabo por la ONG Radi Vidi Pats y por Claudia, voluntaria SVE en dicha organización.
Radi Vidi Pats significa en Letón "Haz tu mismo el Medio Ambiente". Las principales prioridades de la organización son la educación medioambiental y el aprendizaje intercultural para los jóvenes.

During the festival, it was celebrated the Storytelling festival. This year's novelty was the participation of EVS volunteers telling a legend or story in their own language. This initiative was carried out by the NGO Radi Vidi Pats and Claudia, Spanish EVS volunteer in the organization.
Radi Vidi Pats in Latvian means Make the Environment Yourself. The main priorities of the organisation are environmental education and intercultural learning for youngsters.

En el evento participamos un grupo de 10  voluntarios que estamos realizando nuestro SVE en diferentes ciudades de Letonia. Finalmente, no todos pudimos contar nuestras historias en el festival oficialmente porque no hubo suficiente tiempo, solamente Andrés, SVE de España en Jurmala, y Susi, SVE de Austria en Jurmala también, contaron sus leyendas :) 
Digo oficialmente, porque antes de las actuciones había "micrófono abierto" y todo el mundo podía contar una historia, y claro, yo conté mi leyenda sobre El acueducto de Segovia :)

On the event, we participated a group of 10 volunteers who are doing our EVS in differents cities of Latvia. Finally, not all we could tell our stories in the festival because there wasn't enough time, only Andrés, EVS from Spain in Jurmala, and Susi, EVS from Austria in Jurmala too, they told their legends :) 
I say officially, because before the performances there was an "open microphone" and everybody could tell a legend or history, and of course, I told my legend about The Aqueduct of Segovia :)

4th May Celebrations in Rezekne / Celebraciones en el 4 de Mayo // By Carmen Encuentra // Be the first to comment!

Letonia se prepara para las celebraciones del 4 de Mayo: Latvijas Republikas Neatkarības atjaunošanas dienu,  Día de la Declaración de Independencia de la República de Letonia.

Rezekne ya tiene preparado el programa para celebrarlo. Por ejemplo, un paseo en bicicleta, actividades deportivas, talleres creativos, feria de artesanía,... Para finalizar el día 4 habrá un concierto en GORS de entrada gratuita.

Estoy esperando con ganas vivir de nuevo otro día tan importante para los letones.

´´El 4 de mayo de 1990, el Consejo Supremo de la República Socialista Soviética de Letonia aprobó la Declaración "Por la Restauración de la Independencia de la República de Letonia" y renovó la Constitución 1922 de Letonia. La entrada del ejército URSS en Letonia el 17 de junio 1940 fue declarado un crimen internacional contra el Estado Letón. El Consejo Supremo declaró Letonia un estado independiente y democrático y estableció un período de transición para la restauración del factor de norma letona. La Constitución fue completamente restaurada por la primera asamblea de la quinta Saeima (Parlamento de la República de Letonia), y este hecho se anunció posteriormente a las administraciones de la Unión Soviética y otros países´´(liveriga.com)

Latvia is preparing for the celebrations on 4th May: Latvijas Republikas Neatkarības atjaunošanas dienu, which means Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia.

Rezekne has already prepared the program to celebrate it. For example, a bike tour, sport activities, creative workshops, craft market,...To finish the day will be a concert in GORS free entry.

I am looking forward to live again another important day for latvians.

El 4 de Abril, yo, Carmen y otros voluntarios SVE (Giorgi, Karina, Kike) y estudiantes Erasmus (Marta, Hazal and Gülüş) tuvimos la oportunidad de asistir a una clase maestra de cerámica impartida por el maestro Mihail Sabanskis. Fue una fantástica y experiencia única, disfrutamos y aprendimos mucho y pronto os podremos mostrar el resultado final de nuestras creaciones :D

On 4th of April, me, Carmen and others EVS volunteers (Giorgi, Karina, Kike) and Erasmus students (Marta, Hazal and Gülüş) had the oportunity to attend a pottery master class with a craftsmen Mihail Sabanskis. It was a fantastic and unique experience, we enjoyed and learned a lot and soon we will show you the result of our creations :D
